Am I the only one who gets bored as soon as my playthrough gets to the stage where I have made myself full Daedric/Dragon armour with two enchantments on each piece?I recently decided to boycott smithing and enchanting, only using unique weapons and armour, and it has made the game so much more fun for me. I've had to turn the difficulty down from what I had it on before, but I would seriously urge anyone who is finding Skyrim a bit stale by the time they get their character to the higher levels to ditch that enchanted Daedric armour and go find some cool and unique items to use! What are your opinions on the 100 Smithing + 100 Enchanting style of play?. I have never bothered until my latest alt (who is doing mostly just enchanting). I detest the crafting grind & so far have never needed to be more powered.
Only real reason I'm doing it now is that I want a very specific set of gear (non-daedric) with specific abilities & those reasons are for role-playing. I pretty much use just what I can find or purchase. What are your opinions on the 100 Smithing + 100 Enchanting style of play?In 1 word, Lame. I'm playing the accidental/reluctant hero saving Skyrim. When would I have time to become the realm's best Smith AND the realm's best Enchanter?
Makes no sense. It's strictly a min/max element. And I hate min/maxing.I'd rather that I do a favor for a smith/enchanter & in return he supplies me with an item that I give him the materials for.' So you want a Flaming Sword of Death, do ya? Well, bring me whatever sword you want enchanted, some Fire Salts, 2 lumps of charcoal & a Soul Gem, the bigger the better, and I'll fashion it for ya. Here, let me write that down for you so you don't forget.
Oh, and as payment, I'll need you to do something for me, something rather dangerous. And I'll have the sword ready for you when you get back.' ETA: You could have smiths vary in ability, perhaps tied to the characters level. Say they can smith at 50 Skill level (Call it Adept) when the character reaches level 20 (or whatever). Character hits 30 & smiths become Expert (75 skill level), 100 skill level is Master of course.Or maybe a new smith opens shop/starts to take customers.
'You want me to make a what? With that tiny (petty) little Soul Gem? I'm too busy right now to take on new jobs. Come back later.' Either way, end item is the result of the Smith's level and the size of the Soul Gem. That way the power levelers cannot scrounge for a Black/Grand SG & run across the continent to the Master Enchanter & get a Legendary item too early.
BUT there is nothing that would prevent a character from grinding it out himself if he so chooses. Use mods that make enemies powerful enough to withstand even the most overpowered characters:)I have 100 smithing/enchanting and the Inferno: Envoys of the End bosses are still utterly demolishing me. Might have to synergize with 100 alchemy as well to beat a few of them, plus abuse Atronach Stone combined with Alteration perks for 80% magic absorb. Considering that I'm still getting one shot a lot, its possible that the bosses are balanced around capped magic res, ele res and high absorb along with a good HP pool. While this makes it so that you don't have to awkwardly limit yourself, it does makes crafting required, which is definitely not fun for some people. If I were to go without smith/enchanting, I'd have to turn down the difficulty to reduce enemy HP but then use Deadly Monsters/Dragons to then re-buff their damage. The DPS difference has got to be more than double. Mafia 3 pc download. I gradually increased the difficulty in mine, but Alduin was still way too easy on second highest (And that was without maxing enchant/smithing). Considering going to legendary.
Skyrim Learn All Enchantments
I do try to limit/nerf myself in other ways though, like I reset archery and one-handed when they are maxed so I dont do that much damage. And I've become a vampire, but I never go in to vampire lord mode, so all it does is making fighting during the day much more complicated.Seriously considering no smithing or enchanting for my next playthrough though, it sounds way more realistic and fun:)EDIT: oh, and not using Marked for Death would complicate most playthroughs as well I believe. It's actually really useful. I knocked it on my first playthrough because the description sounded useless and the first word isn't that good alone but once you have all three words it is really good. Basically it slowly drains health and armor away from the guy and as far as I have seen, doesn't wear off until death unless it's a follower.
I used the first word on a dragon that attacked me at the worst possible time and forced me to hide in a nearby hut. When I came out the dragon was almost dead from my shout. Not using skills is like taking an arrow in the knee, then becoming a guard because you couldn't be bothered to remove it. Jk.I'd rather develop my character to be the best I can get him, and make it more difficult in other ways. Like changing to legendary or questing without any potions.
The increase in abilities are an incentive. What frustrated me on my previous play-through, is that the are all these rewards, like the black books, and you get them when you are just about done with all the major and major side quests. Right now I'm building a sneak character, primary weapon - bow. I've started the main quest, just to the point where the greybeards taught me unrelenting force and whirlwind sprint, joined the thieves guild, done a couple of minor quests, but avoid any of the fun stuff. The only stuff I'll do at the moment is quests where the bad guys doesn't level. And I'm on level 46. My gave myself the target of level 50, then I'm doing the black books, before any of the other main quests.
If it's too easy, I'll make it legendary; I've played OP before, and it's no fun. But I won't handy-cap myself by avoiding skills. If I'm still op'ed at that stage, I'll use enchantments on my stuff that is beneficial, but not overpowering. Like at the moment, I have to enchanted pieces that gives me a total of +80% bow damage. I'd rather change that to pick-pocket and carry weight or similar, instead of not doing smithing/enchanting at all. Every playthrough I like to limit myself in some way.
This is one of the ways I do it. Playing a mage character right now, and have yet to put any perks in enchanting or smithing.Eventually, as my character grows in power, I will craft Items to make him godly. As for the 100/100 smithing/enchanting playthrough, its completely dependant on how you play and enjoy the game. If you like being a powerhouse. By all means.
If you wish for a more 'realistic' experience, the 100/100 isn't usually a good idea. I'm taking something of a middle ground in this regard. I don't boycott Smithing, but I absolutely do not grind it towards 100 (or any other skill with this character, for that matter).
I simply upgrade my and my companion's equipment, and smith new equipment/jewelry with only materials that I find through normal adventuring and mining. My only concession is that I do train Smithing regularly (I train that or Restoration each level, whichever is lowest).I'm really enjoying this playthrough.
It really gives me a sense of satisfaction when I'm able to smith my armor or weapons a little higher than they were before, and for me the game is much more fun when I don't reach that bored endgame stage you described by going through the boring rigamarole of buy ingots transmute smith jewelry until I'm blurry eyed.Hitting 100 Smithing will be an accomplishment, not something I did in a boring six hour rush. I'm mostly avoiding smithing and entirely avoiding enchanting on my new build. I'm basically playing a certain 'type.' It's a khajiit playing a scummy stealth type. So he's good at alchemy and knows his herbs. He can skin an animal and fashion things out of the hide.
Always the one to be interested in money, he knows a little bit about fashioning some jewelry, but doesn't know much about it. He can make his own bows that he uses to hunt. But ask him to enchant, dechant, fashion a sword or make a set of steel armor? Like he'd know what to do.
For almost all character builds, knowing the best weapons in Skyrim for each type is going to be worthwhile. Some are available early on, too, through side quests or otherwise, which can be a massive help for playthroughs on harder difficulties, or for those with a burning desire to power through to Skyrim's late-game content. In fact, for all One-Handed skill users, they can be essential:. Dual-wielding means that the swing-speed of the fastest weapon is applied to both. So, for duel-wielders, equipping one of the below daggers like Mehrune's Razor, which has a tiny weight of just 3, will apply that same weight to a massive Daedric Mace when put in the other hand.
Blade of Woe is acquired from either pickpocketing or killing Astrid of the Dark Brotherhood, or completeing the Dark Brotherhood quest 'With Friends like These'. If you pickpocket it from her before completing that quest, you can in fact obtain two copies of the weapon. Mehrunes Razor is a reward for completing the quest 'Pieces of the Past', if you opt to kill Silus Vesuius.

They're the fastest non-dagger one-handed weapons, but have lower damage than their mace and war axe counterparts. Windshear, firstly, benefits from appears to be a bug, whereby every attack with it will stagger your opponent - even dragons - rendering them completely unable to attack or reatreat as long as you continue to strike them with the right timing. It is only possible to obtain during the Dark Brotherhood quest 'Hail Sithis' on board The Katariah, where it's lodged, Excalibur-like, right at the very top of the ship's prow.
Miraak's Sword is obtained by killing Miraak in the Dragonborn quest 'At the Summit of Apocrypha'. Chillrend can be found during the quest 'The Pursuit', inside the tunnels under Riftweald Manor in Riften, and can also be obtained by breaking into Riftwead Manor and accessing the tunnels from inside, after doing a spot of roof-hopping to get inside. Chillrend is levelled, too, meaning you get the stats we've detailed below at level 46 and over. Nightingale Blade is acquired as a reward for completing the Thieves Guild quest 'Hard Answers', and is also levelled, with the maximum stats we detail below gained if you're at level 46 or above.

A simple SkyProc patcher to fix the fact that followers (and other NPCs) can't benefit from many types of armor enchantments. For instance, Fortify One-Handed/Two-Handed/Marksman, Fortify Destruction/Other Magic, Fortify Block,. In vanilla Skyrim, these enchantments have no effect on anyone using them other than the player. The patcher adds the 'PerkSkillBoosts' perk (usually only on the Player) to NPCs, which control these benefits.A very nice fix IMHO, and to my knowledge, has not been fixed in any other mod before. Dienes has been working very actively on updating the SkyProc library on an almost daily basis over in the Beth forums, and seems committed to eventually figuring out this issue, so I would give it some time. It is a very weird error from a coding standpoint so it may take awhile to figure out the source of the problem. In the meantime, if you still want to use the patcher, you could try adding whichever DLCs (or other plugins) that are producing errors for you to your BlockList.txt for the patcher (for me, it was only the cleaned Dawnguard.esm that caused errors).
This way you'd still get the changes applied to the vast majority of Vanilla and modded NPCs/followers, with only a few exceptions.
What is this? You want more armor enchantments and you also miss the old enchantments ' Life Detection' and ' Invisibility' from Oblivion. This modification contain 29 new enchantments and one new follower (wip).Everything will start in Riften. You'll find a corpse of a troll. How strong are these enchantments?Right now Im trying to make them more lore friendly. So there's a formula basing on your enchanting skills.
The better you enchanting is the better are the enchantments. This will maybe change in later versions to other base skills. Not sure yet.
